Kittitas County Auditor Bryan Elliott Seeking Second Term with Strong Support from Community Leaders

ELLENSBURG, Wash. – Kittitas County Auditor Bryan Elliott officially announced his candidacy for re-election today, backed by significant early endorsements from community leaders. These include all three Kittitas County Commissioners and all five of the county’s mayors.

Elliott’s broad support underscores his first-term record of achievements in election security, fiscal accountability, and modernized customer service.

County Commissioner Brett Wachsmith said in his endorsement of Elliott, “Bryan has been a catalyst for innovation while elevating the level of service in the Auditor’s Office. I enthusiastically endorse his re-election and look forward to working with him again in a second term.”

Since being elected in 2022, Elliott has leveraged strategic grant funding to bolster the county’s physical and cybersecurity infrastructure. The centerpiece of this effort was the installation of 24/7 live-view cameras at the Election Center, allowing the public to observe the process in real time.

Elliott’s tenure has also been defined by fiscal responsibility and a redesign of the county’s budget process. Under his leadership, the office achieved three consecutive years of timely annual audits with no questioned costs and successfully completed a historic overhaul of the county’s financial software. Beyond the books, Elliott has focused on accessibility, including the long-overdue addition of credit card processing for recorded document services, which has already streamlined transactions for thousands of residents.

“Confidence in our government starts with transparency and accessibility,” said Elliott. “Whether it’s opening our election center for 24/7 live-stream viewing or simply ensuring a resident can pay for services with a credit card, my goal has been to remove barriers and deliver the highest level of service possible.”

In his second term, Elliott’s vision includes continuing to enhance election security and transparency, leveraging the county’s new financial systems to achieve additional operational efficiencies, and proactively combating emerging threats such as property deed fraud to protect local homeowners.
